Help boost your immune system with this simple homemade tonic

So many people are sick right now!! If you’re feeling lousy and not like leaving the house, here’s an old-fashioned favourite of mine:
Into a coffee plunger or teapot put the following:

  • 2-3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1/2 lemon chopped up with skin on
  • 1 tspn fresh grated ginger
  • pinch chilli powder
  • 1 peppermint tea bag
  • 1 tspn honey
  • 2 cups boiling water

Leave the lid on & let it all stew for about 15 minutes stirring occasionally then strain off the solids (pushing on the strainer with the back of a spoon to get out all the ‘juice’ ).

Drink the brew by the small cupful over a few hours, warming it in a saucepan gently beforehand.

Really helps to bring out a sweat and boost the immune system. Do this while resting, so that your body can heal.
